Ben Wright provides ground support for Marcel Jackson, who is working on the teenut grid on the 45 degree wall.

The path to a secret world. In we go… behind the 45 degree wall.

Steve Ford assists me with some overhead drilling so I don't have to stand on the ladder.

Go grid go! Another day, another teenut…

Heather Murray and myself working on the 30 degree wall grid, while Ben Wright is merrily capturing the moment.

Ta da! Golden rays of sunlight shine down upon the 45 degree wall.

On Sunday, we went back in for a quick visit to evaluate the kinds of grade of routes the latest shipments of holds will represent. In turn, this allows me to determine what I should order next, such that there will be "something for everyone". Please note that the holds were only on the wall temporarily to evaluate. Routesetting is still a good few weeks away yet.

Next on the Burnley Project:

This week, we aim to get the bulk of the teenutting work completed. I'm also busily collecting more holds, and dealing with softfall vendors.

Routesetting cannot occur until after the wall is painted and the softfall solution goes in, so we're still a good few weeks away yet…

Stay tuned, Melbourne!!

wow, this is coming along all so fast. i can't wait now to get back and train on it. well done jaq, for continual efforts, and to all those who have helped push this project along.

it reminds me a bit of those commonwealth games adds, where the crowds help push the girl over the high jump

I've had two people express interest in donating a boulder problem to Burnley. That's awesome people! I'd love to hear from more people that are keen to donate a boulder problem, or $$ towards one.

Remember – we have around 2000 teenuts to fill up! The more we fill, the better the training facility for you. If you wish to contribute holds or cash for the project can contact me directly. If you would like to purchase a small collection of holds to generate an "up" problem, or short boulder problem, you can do so. Simply contact one of the companies listed below, tell them the wall you wish to set on (30 degree or 45 degree), the approximate grade you want your problem to be, and how many moves you want to have in it. Anyone interested in doing this should perhaps consider purchasing unusual colours such as orange or swirly colours, so as not to clash with the main routes (contact me via PM to clarify). So its easy - simply purchase a small kit of holds, and we'll have a routesetter set the problem for you!!

Three separate areas, totalling approx 80sqm surface area. To a depth of 70mm. Strength 20mpa. Light reinforcing. Surface steel float or helicopter finish. As it is setting go over it with an indoor broom to create a rough texture for the adhesive of the rubber softfall to adhere to.

Tristan could you send me a PM or email with your phone number so I can contact you and discuss?

Thankyou!

Dear climbing community,

I am proud to announce that three companies from the climbing world have come on board in support of the Burnley Project. I look forward to observing an increase in traffic flow through their doors as Burnley attracts more participants into the climbing community.

A very big thankyou to the following companies (listed alphabetically):

Bogong Equipment (http://www.bogong.com.au) of Melbourne
The Hardrock Climbing Company (http://www.hardrock.com.au) of Nunawading, and
The Victorian Climbing Centre of Seaford.

I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that it is organisations such as those listed above who are helping make Burnley an awesome facility for you, and for others that have not yet discovered climbing. Next time you find yourself in one of the above-mentioned premises, could you possibly take a moment to personally thank them for their support.

Thanks everyone!!

Note to Jac on support of climbers. You posted links to the hold manufacturers and I have just sent off orders to two of those links. I would not have otherwise followed through on this except that you had posted the links.

Hi Phil,

Thankyou for your feedback. I would suggest you mention to the hold manufacturers how you found out about them. Accordingly they will get an understanding of how their support of their project is in turn helping their companies.

Cheers,

Jac

Ease up there 10mm, I can't see you putting in the countless hours and effort that is necessary to provide the climbing community a free place to gather and have a boulder. I think you are way out of line buddy and I would support the removal of your flameage. If you do not wish to see this thread supporting the sponsors of this wall then you should pony up the $ to see the project through to completion, now sac up princess or go take a hike.

10mm, if you are here to only flame and troll and not offer anything positive then the site would be better off without you.
