Bring nibbles to share and some indication of your Chockstone name!

29 July is the middle of the ski season, and I expect to be making the most of our decent snow cover. See you in Spring perhaps?

There is decent snow, river levels AND primo friction in the gramps. It's a bloody nightmare to get enough
time to do it all. (board, paddle and climb that is)

I didnt realise you paddled as well. Between you and mousey is there any outdoor activity that you havent done? or cool place you havent been?
After having a quick think about this, maybe my Financial adviser (WIFE) should talk to you and mousey's financial adviser (???) and organise in the next budget a Mentawis boat surf trip and a thailand climbing trip with maybe a few weeks in N.Z to catch some powder and white water. Sounds fair to me.

gordoste (on another thread), suggested resurrecting the Chockstone Gathering to be held up at Mt Buffalo on Australia Day weekend (26-28 Jan '08), possibly in conjunction with the annual* VCC trip there at the same time.
(* ? ... just checked VCC site and they don't have any events yet listed for 2008)
Sounds good to me. Potentially cool in summer and other activities at hand like mtn biking / water (Lake Catani) / good m/cycle destination etc ...
Is anyone else interested?

What's that?
(Heh, heh, heh).
Fair dinkum, how can you compare one days entertainment with a full long weekend at Buffalo?
Every day up there is a 'big day out' !
btw I thought you were off snowboarding or mountaineering o'seas then anyway?

2nd post edit; re WW wrote (in the future);

True! It is a busy time of year up there for general camping type peoples. Need to book well ahead for a campsite at Catani, if not cottoning-on to existing arrangements with others.
