Very clever ! ---I like that !! --- however ...

The caulron is drifting peacefully to the archives --- if youz muthaz let it !!! --- This thread is the Random Thoughts thread --- as stated earlier --- designed to absorb shocks, munch garbage(and turn it into wonderful climbing-insights) and generally take the political-tension out of the broader Chockstone system...

Onsight is very carefully considering a HUGE request, it would be very nice but I respect / suspect ...

A5 --- if you or any other dudes have any misc' postable pics (pref' climbing-related ! ), then ' colour-this-world' ...

I am still fuelling-along on your ' road-trip ' concepts --- very-well-crafted indeed, Adz !

Years ago I had a game (tetris rip off from memory) that had a hide boss button, you hit the space bar and it threw up a dummy spreadsheet so that way anyone that walked in you could quickly cover the screen with bogus page...I now work for myself from home...but stil need something because if my 5yo daughter sees me surfing climbing sites she decided Im not working and wants the computer:)

I agree with you H-T; colour piccies will add heaps of value to an already great site. I just need to learn the art of doing it, (still muddling along on that score).

I followed a thread link the other day from Chockstone to where a climber was trying that hard arete thingo named 'One Bed To The Left', anyway I tried to copy the last picture in the sequence back to the Chockstone thread with appropriate acknowledgements to photographer and climber, with the purpose of commenting on the fall that the climber was taking.

Obviously I couldn't work out how to do it (and it probably saved me from a copyright infringement?); but getting back to the fall ... the rope is clipped to a bolt on LHS of the arete and climber is falling down RHS of same arete after blowing the crux move up high.
It is obvious from the photo taken from above the climber that the rope is running against a sharp angled arete, and the climber will eventually pendulum into the edge or back to the LHS. In the meantime the rope will take some wicked abrasion from the edge ...
A picture paints a thousand words they say, and I thought it would make the basis of an interesting discussion?

I often look for nuance detail in published pictures.
Why did the climber do this ?/ carry that ? / whats that bit of gear? / Look at the way they have clipped that ! / tied in !! / tied their shoe laces etc !!!
=> All fascinating stuff, and would enhance discussion quite a bit ??

>& a great-dane maybe, but a rabbit & an addax ?! ...

The skitterish addax has recovered from being spooked by something in the grass at the edge of the waterhole, and has now resumed the 'herd' mentality.

It was a 'mint adventure', thanks Kent !!

In the worlds before Hexy, primal chaos reigned.
Heaven sought order.
But the phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown.
The four worlds formed again and yet again,
As endless aeons wheeled and passed.
Time and the pure essences of Heaven,
the moisture of the Earth,
the powers of the sun and the moon
All worked upon a certain rock, old as creation.
And it became magically fertile.
That first egg was named "Thought".
Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, said,
"With our thoughts, we make the world."
Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch.
From it then came a stone monkey.
The nature of HEX was irrepressible!

Hey if you eat the right mushrooms, you and trippy can even fly around in a cloud ;)

Nick --- at the entrance to Newcastle Harbour , there is a barrel-ing wave which breaks over old-car-bodies & assorted gnarly-metal-junk ... --- your icon indicates that you may have wiped-out BIG-TIME while surfing there ! ; Either that or you have caught David Bowie's rapid-aging disease, as seen in ' The Hunger ', and you are in serious need of some time in Micheal Jackson's oxygen-tent ...

Say g'day to Mark Richards for me --- my surfing made the quantum-leap to the 7th-dimension when I switched from a 7'-pin-tail-single-fin, to a 6'2"-M.R.-twinny --- STOKED !!!

Bugger it Hexy, if no-one else wants to add some colour, here is some hardcore climbing action. Yes I know the grade of this climb (the pinnacle traverse) is low, but you should see the size of the sharks down there... I don't think the ewbank system properly takes sharks into account.. Please don't make fun of my hat, it's a sore point...
