sure, because i used the word 'capitalist'. got anything to add other than down-play a comment by trying to put it in a little box?

there's also pressure from the institution to keep fail rates within a certain quota. increase O/S (non-english) students to > 70% in courses with a strong language requirement and the fail rate should dramatically increase, but it doesn't. the pressure isn't from the students, its from the organisation keeping itself attractive to the O/S market and keeping itself financially viable. apparently a degree is a commodity, it takes a long time for the market to realise that as a result of the practises of said university the quality of its degrees has dramatically dropped.

in many ways the organisation becomes a brand name. funding high-profile research gives the uni a good name, which is a large part in how its degrees are valued. people don't care that quality of teaching is unrelated to quality of research in a university, but thats the way of the market-driven world. improve the perceived value of a product, reduce costs, forget about actual quality.

So can we expect some more info on his excellent exploits or do you just envy his&damos hats?

Re number counting (aah, too bad 'da count' has gone or he could keep score); the long haul is a better measure. Lisa C has come and gone, Simey and LittleMac are in the race now, but we all have a ways to go B4 we catch the Fly or Hex-Troll.

I am merely a novice when it comes to this site, I will however try my best to remain opinionated and at times controversial and will of course in the grand tradition of egocentric beahaviour, prepare an accepteance speech in anticipation of my glorious crowning as "Most Prolific (and consequently most likely to develop non climbing related RSI) Poster"

Keep the opinions coming,

Aren't first year students fresh meat?????? That's what I was always told. Never helped me out though, still struck out whether they were first, second, third or fourth years.

At least there's always climbing to make me feel better.
