The last AT of the year holds a couple of treats!

Our speaker will be Andrew Gregory - an award-winning Australian photographer and adventurer.

Instead of a second speaker there will be Adventure Time Trivia (testing your memory of previous ATs and general outdoor skillz). There may even be prizes, so study hard!

And before all that, there will be a social bbq, so bring some extra change, as well as your own drinks.
Doors open at 18:30. 197 Wilson St, Newtown

ANDREW GREGORY

A passionate photographer since his school days, he was originally lured into landscape photography by the huge expanses of Western Australia and the prospect of photographing stunningly beautiful remote landscapes that the majority of people never see.

Andrew’s photographic career has been a continuous adventure. He has climbed high altitude summits in Pakistan’s Karakoram and hiked the entire length of the Biafo and Hispar glaciers – the world’s longest continuous ice corridor.

In Australia he has taken DNA samples off whale sharks on Western Australia’s Ningaloo Reef, surveyed mountains in the Deserts, journeyed into Lake Eyre, kayaked down wild rivers, camped on remote islands and taken extended hikes into wilderness areas. He has travelled extensively and there are few parts of Australia that he hasn’t seen.

Andrew has also been involved in numerous expeditions and in 2007 received the Australian Geographic Spirit of Adventure Award for his Kayak expedition down the Negri and Ord Rivers in search of the lost crocodiles.

His presentation will be a real treat, particularly his more recent visuals of Australian landscapes captured using multi-rotor drones. Some images can be found here: http://www.andrewgregory.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=11&Itemid=13
