Went for a walk up at Rosea today (20 weeks post-op, 4 weeks still until I can climb - so frustrating).
Lovely day up there, a few parties on Debutante, Last Rite, Crank Hard, Crank Fast.
A rough track has been built going diagonally right from the second hairpin bend. I think that it's been put in by people working on routes up the far right-hand end of the cliff. Don't take this track as a short cut - it ends up well to the right of the existing climbs and you'll exert far more energy than following the existing track. I think it would have been better if this track was not put in.
The start of Bubbles is still wet. The flake itself is dry but the rock on the right that you bridge off is still sopping wet. Probably won't take long to dry if these temps continue.
While at the car-park a car came up the Silverband road - I'm sort of guessing that they were overseas tourists who had just driven several kms the wrong way up a one-way road. So if ever you're tempted to scream down Silverband road, careless at the blind corners, just remember that while it may be a one-way road, that doesn't mean you won't meet someone coming the other way :)
