As an added bonus, we're planning to have you all over a little early for a bbq before the talks begin. We'll confirm this closer to the date, as rain might come between you and your sausages...

So the program is
19:00 BBQ
20:00 Belinda Ritchie
21:00 Murray Fredericks
(note that AT runs on inner-west time, which is highly flexible)
Address is 197 Wilson St, Newtown

The presenters are

BELINDA RITCHIE

Belinda Ritchie was awarded the 2014 Young Adventurer of the Year award for her traverse of the Bicentennial National Trail, which she completed in just under 12 months with her three horses, Clincher, Trump and Ruben.

The BNT runs 5,330 kilometres from Cooktown in tropical far north Queensland to Healesville in Victoria, following the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and the Eastern Escarpment. The trail combines interesting aspects of Australia's pioneering history; following a lot of it is the old droving stock routes and passing through old gold rush towns where there were once 12 hotels and six newspapers and now there's nothing. When passing through National Parks you can go for several weeks without being resupplied. Along the northern sections, crocodiles become a real concern.

Tonight, Belinda will give us some glimpses into this year exploring the diverse landscapes of Australia and maybe hint at some ideas for future trips.

MURRAY FREDERICKS

Murray Fredericks is a Sydney based photographer and visual artist working on landscape based projects in locations such as the Greenland Icecap and at Lake Eyre. Working mostly alone in these vast, featureless locations, the projects run over many years. The resulting series convey both an internal and external experience of emptiness and the void.

Tonight he will share some of his images and insights from his trips. For a taste of his images and stories see
