Did my annual weekend of lazing about pretending to climb at Nowra and taking Rope Donkeys advice went to 'Woodys wood fired pizza' at East Nowra shops.

We brought some biro pens to hand out to the malnourished begging children that crowd you between car and shop and dodged a few drive by bullets but it was totally worth it. Really good pizza , menu , good service , feck me even good deco. Highly recommended.

Q: What does a Nowra girl use for protection during sex?

A: A bus shelter.

Q: You’re out driving and you see a Nowra Boy riding a pushbike along the road, why should you try not to hit him?

A: It’s probably your bike.

Q: What do you call a Nowra Boy in a suit?

A: The defendant.

So now we have fallen so low that we tell jokes that you could swap with any town..
At least be funny with a joke or it's all tumble weeds and crickets..
With the cold temperature and wind most carparks have been busy at all the town crags.
No break ins, no drive by's etc..
Just climbing actually.
I also did two trips to Araps and one to Tassie this year saw the good and bad of it all. Did I complain, no just put it down as an experience

Thompsons Point was pretty bad for break ins for a while in the past.

I have had my car broken into at Noosa, Tianjara Falls and Newtown. Had my car stolen from the Central coast and also Wollongong.
Yep I have watched housos. Also worked in the housing commission areas around here.. Some of my funniest work stories start from the knock on the door.
Again it's all experiences. .
life would be boring if we lived within our comfort zone

I saw a bumper sticker on a parked car in Sydney that read

"I miss Nowra".

So I broke the windows, took the wireless and left half a dozen empty VB tinnies on the front seat with a note that read,

"I hope this helps"

Cool at least that one is semi funny..
But it still is just insert town here so you get no street cred yet.
How about instead of being childish you actually put forward a decent gripe and maybe in some sort of adult way we can discuss it..
And just to bring it to your attention again.. I don't live at nowra

Thank you Ropedonkey, for treating my home town with the respect it deserves by not capitalising the spelling of its first letter.

Hmmmmm, adult discussion you say? Allow me to have a go at this strange new concept of yours.
So, I love Nowra, been climbing there regularly since the mid 90s.
What bothers me at Nowra these days is a prevailing attitude down there which is hard to describe, but I'll loosely bundle it under the term "Damogotry". It's the desperate search for the very minimum in skills and diversity required by climbers. The Nowra scene breeds climbers with no skills (crimping and locking off is not a skill), but heaps of entitlement.......and then they decide that they have the right to climb everywhere, but that'll require closely spaced ringbolts and a loweroff at the top. Nowra damogotory is amusing when contained, but pretty frigging annoying once it starts to spread.

Oh God no..Not you as well..!
Damo do you like Nowra climbing but not the people that migrate there to climb?
My starting comment was more about the people that are critical of the Nowra area but still came climbing again and again.

Yeh? I came from there but couldn't wait to get away.
Initially I climbed there , mostly due the hype it got in Rock Mago , and Saxon Johns was friendly enough , but I soon got sick of the same old same old.
Result was I couldn't wait to escape for a breath of fresh air.

You keep going back?

Sad.

Really? High concentration of hard routes and great winter conditions make it a great climbing location.

This is a thread about bagging Nowra. Can all you unreconstructed Nowraphiles go somwhere else, you're interupting our fun.

"Damogotry" - it kind of like "Nanny State" applied to climbing - lowest common demominator determines the standard.

The experience of climbing at Nowra (or anywhere else) isn't separated from the people who are there. It's like hipsters. Even though they are probably all very nice people individually, when you go to the trendy bits of Melbourne and are surrounded by their bearded, matt-black single-speed, chai drinking bullshit, it just makes you want to vomit!

I was told when traveling down from Sydney not to bother, go to point pep.
