Grampians fire: looking forward

Anyone know if the last Vic Ranges fires had any real impact on the feral goat herds? Last time I was at Mt Stapleyton I saw load of goats, with any luck they were bbq'd also. If not then I guess they will be fattening up on all the weeds that climbers brought into the place. What is the latest asbestos update from the campground? Has the rain washed away the meagre remains of the Grampians that the fires didn't destroy?

That shit is blowing in the wind. After the canberra fires there were weeds growing everwhere, kilometers from roads and tracks it was weed city. Again, climber traffic is so inconsequential in the overall picture.

Yes, they're very thin, doesn't matter for shit in the scheme of things. Anyway, the weeds will shore up any remaining soil quite quickly. 3 years from now you'll be having to machete tracks through the jungle of weed and young eucalypts.

Kieran, My comments were not meant to offend, and were not relating to the huge impact on people and property.

How about y'all host a massive triple J hottest 100 party at Halls Gap this weekend. Register it with the J's - give em a call and they might even plug it. More chance of people turning up then flogging some (allegedly) poxy non-crag. Due to the great loss people have sufferred I will graciously lower my commission for coming up with this grand idea to a modest 2% of booze takings - for which I will receive payment by personally drinking (free of charge) 2% of all booze consumed. As per my standard rider I will require provision of an ambulance.
