Motorradwerk Zschopau ~ magic! ... even if only a short run to re-boot it's battery!
Early or late model? A while back they were heavily into sidecars too ...
I will look for it with interest!

Weather forecast looks to be touching on ordinary for the event days, but that often goes with motorcycling so no worries there.

It is a bugger that the Phillip Island MotoGP is on at the same time as the ACF though...

The ride both ways to ACF was great, due it included a good mix of road types and terrain.
(Might get around to posting some pics here as a mini-visual trip report some time...)
Didn't notice crunchybits1 MZ, though I looked for it...

Visited an adventure rider comrade in hospital today.
He was pretty busted up, but is now on the mend.
Take care out there.

Remarkably, disconcertingly sensible changes.

Black Dog 1 Dayer Rides coming up this Sunday...
~> Am going to go and wave a minority flag again for dirt oriented bikes amongst the plethora of hardly capables Harley Davidsons and other assorted street machines.

At least this time in my part of the world they have chosen a route that involves hills and corners, though supporting the cause is the main thing...

Heads up for the Alpine Rally coming up again at Yarrangobilly on 6,7,8 June ...

Am taking an extra couple of days off for it and will attend via a circuitous route (yet to be decided on), if others want to accompany the ride...

Here is a current link to Vicroads seeking feedback on road safety in Victoria.

http://www.roadsafety.vic.gov.au/index.php

It is a good opportunity to give motorcyclist (and or cage driver, treadly rider, pedestrian), feedback on issues that may concern you...

Woo hoo.
Just heard on ABC radio that from November, lane filtering for motorcycles will be legal in Victoria.
Allegedly at not more than 30 kph and allowable not only between slow moving traffic but also between moving traffic and stationary vehicles.
Vic now is similar to Qld and NSW..., not that it will greatly affect me on the way to BAW'15.

Better even, since you can't be arrested in Vic for riding a motorbike to an icecream store to purchase icecream in a group of more than two people.

... Excerpt from the link provided.
Five alleged bikies from Melbourne who faced anti-association offences after buying ice-cream during a family holiday on the Gold Coast have had their charges dropped.

The men, who were alleged to have associations with the Hells Angels and Comanchero bikie gangs, had their charges dismissed in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, the ABC reported.

Daniel Lovett, 30, Bane Alajbegovic, 30, Dario Halilovic, 23, Kresimir Basic, 29, and Darren Haley, 33, were holidaying in Surfers Paradise in January last year when they were arrested.

The men were walking along Elkhorn Avenue - a main strip in Surfers - towards Cold Rock ice-creamery when their tattoos and muscular frames were noticed by police. The men's partners and children had returned to the Hilton Hotel after dinner.

Police took their names and issued warrants at the hotel two days later after checking their records with Victorian police. Three of the men were in bed, while Mr Lovett and Mr Haley were in the hotel gym.

The men were charged with breaching Queensland's tough anti-association laws, which make it illegal for more than two people from a criminal organisation to gather in public.

The laws, introduced by the former Newman government, are subject to a review ordered earlier this year by the Labor Government.

I note the use of the term 'alleged bikies' and that they were walking, not riding; but nevertheless, I am pretty certain that 'consorting' laws exist in all States of Australia; so it is just the application (enthusiasm of same?), of them that differs from State to State?

I also note from that article that the Qld Police only issued warrants after checking the alleged bikies records with Vic Police, so this seems to indicate that the alleged offenders might actually have a Vic record. If this is the case then it makes me wonder why Qld Police rescinded their action of pursuing their case.
~> If it was a stuff-up by Qld Police, then it is likely to prove costly for Qld taxpayers...

Another heads-up, this time for the upcoming 47th Alpine Rally (2016), 11-13 June at Brindabella.

This will be the LAST rally at the long-standing Brindabella site, due the private property it's held on, owner, is unable to host it again in the future.

Consequently there is sure to be a large turnout for old times sake, and to discuss the location of ongoing Alpine Rallys held on alternate years from the Yarrangobilly site.

I'm going.
It doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride, and all brands are accepted.
The Rally is a bring your own everything (pretty much) affair, though fresh water, firewood and drop-dunny with plenty of loo paper, oh and firework display on 'cracker-night', is provided.
A communal nosh-up (every-one contributes), happens on the Sunday night for those who stay the distance...
Cost of attending is $30, and this gets you a badge with the rest going to Air-ambulance / Rescue services.

Brindabella site is supposed to be the more 'adventurous' Alpine Rally site to get to, though in my opinion it has lost a lot of its adventure over the years due to the roads leading into it progressively being tarred further and further than they used to be, so that there is now bugger-all dirt left...
It still has the ride and camp out in winter adventure elements for those of hardy disposition...
The Brindabella River even has trout in it for the fisher-type folk inclined for such.

My route and duration are yet to be determined, pending possible company for my ride.
Who wants to join?
PS; ... I've been known to head south (opposite direction to going to Brindaballa for me), to Mansfield simply for the ride and link-up with another attendee, before retracing towards Brindabella...

Brindabella is a locality, ie bugger-all there, and the turnoff (off the Canberra-Tumut backroad), to the property concerned is pretty well signposted on the weekend.
Plenty of m/cycles attend, so if one was lost or confused, it wouldn't take much of a wait till a devotee came along and set the astray aright!

My simple directions in a nutshell.
Coming from Canberra towards Tumut. If you arrive at the Brindabella River bridge crossing, you have gone about 300 m too far(!), as the turnoff to the left was back 300m.

Follow that road upstream on the left side of the river for (total guess now), about 10 km, and the property will be signposted with a hand made Rally sign on the right.
... Go through the gate and follow the m/cycle tracks along fence-line to top of hill then proceed left-ish over the hilltop and continue down through a gap in the trees and on other side of the hill to the river flats where the camping is a free-for-all.
Mind the wombat holes!

Coming from the Tumut end one crosses the Brindabella Rv then turns right 300 m further on...

If you miss the gate entrance to the Rally site, the road you are on runs out (becomes an entrance to another private property) about 2 km further on involving crossing the river to access same...

Hey WW&S, it'd be a good pack-raft trip from the rally site to Burrinjuck Dam...
Some rugged country in there, and maybe some unexplored cliffs...
I'll give you a lift if you like!
;-)
