Easter at Arapiles

Hi everyone, had a great few days at Arapiles with the kids. However did not enjoy group of 5 girls who turned up, camped next to our tent, got plastered and talked at the top of their voices all night. My young daughters now know every expletive in the dictionary that they learnt from the self proclaimed '[fxxxing lesbian expert.' I won't be going to Araps at Easter again.
Thanks to all the kind and decent campers we met.

Hmm sorry to hear that. Were you in the Pines, gums or north campground?

Unpleasant. Did you ask them to tone it down in volume and content?

It's good to know that soft-roaders are now fully capable of driving over 20 metres of flat grass from the carpark. You wouldn't want to have to carry your bouldering mat too far, would you?
Do you know these people? I gave them a serve on Thursday evening. Please feel free to do the same.

Sounds unpleasant. The guy in a tent near us yelling "Shut up! Shut the %$#& up! I'll &%#*ing kill you!" at the kids playing outside at 7:00am on Easter morning (not his kids, nor mine) didn't do much to endear himself to me, either.

Still, >90% of the folks in the campground were great, and my 4yo daughter had a blast (and is still talking up her epic climb into Melville's cave where she found a bushranger's easter egg). We'll be back in future years, just got to take the rough with the smooth.

You really had some doofus throw down an 'I'll kill you' threat towards the playing kiddies, and your cute little bushranger egg finder? That's brutal!!! I'm usually a pacifist but that'd deserve a very stern speaking to; with a little harsh language to boot;)

We were in the gums as the pines was wall to wall tents.
Dear Edward, you wouldn't want their phone numbers. They were extra plump, pommies and feral. Reminds me of that dingo joke.

Sorry, post edited for clarification. My little cherub was still lying very still in her sleeping bag waiting for me to stop feigning sleep*, so the threats were not directed at her. Not that that excuses them.

Maybe you can join the Natimuk Temperance Society in a walking tour of the pines late evenings and early mornings next Easter to gently explain the error of people's ways.

*Amazing what some well-placed threats of "I'll #$&%ing kill you!" will achieve ;-)

Guys, I'm probably going to get viciously trolled for be a paranoid feminist, but do you think you'd be talking about them like this if they were guys? Making jokes about phone numbers, photos, commenting on their physical appearance? No matter how obnoxious they are to camp next to, it's almost as unacceptable as pulling out a mallet on obnoxious campers and it does affect all the other women in the community to hear jokes and abuse like that.

I originally purposely didn't comment about their appearance. Aside from all the lewd comments, what bothers me is how a small number of people can ruin a great camping experience for the rest of the people near them. Sadly this isn't limited to camping but people abusing parking areas, defecating on tracks, leaving rubbish around etc. I try to make my kids take their rubbish with them. Someone had defecated only 3 meters from the beginning of Lizard Procrastination. Great climb, lucky we didn't step in it.

Someone had made a similar tasteful pyramid about 1/2m from the base of Strife on the Gravy train as well. Must have really needed to go straight away, just hung their arse off the adge of the path.

I liked that they put a rock on top of it so the paper wouldn't blow away and we'd know that they pooped there.

Ben E knows me and my 2 kids as we were nearby and all putting up with the "yellers at kids", obnoxiously drunk P platers, fire twirlers who would have impressed us more if they had done the Buddhist monk move (alas they declined, and yes its still fire season) and a couple of other tools/wankers.
Having said that we had a great time due to the good nature and spirits of others.
And Wendy I did pay out on the physical, mental, and other attributes of the leeches (male and female) that unsuccessfully tried to suck the fun out the weekend with their "look at me" behaviour.
Dont accept this crap. Pay out on them.
