Perma-Ledge - taking things too far?

From the latest pic of the week comes this.

This may be at some obscure crag in the back block's of Nowra, but what's wrong with either lugging in a bosun's chair or set up some other means to make the belay more comfortable than a permanent timber platform?

Looking at the photo with masses of greenery seemingly infesting the cliff wall, and the above, I presumed the ledge was installed so as not to destroy greenery and allow access to what climbing is there. So not so much a belay ledge as access platform doubling as belay ledge?

Check the above photo again. It isn't for access, it has been placed so the belayer doesn't have to set up a hanging belay...

It's neither permanent nor in the back blocks of Nowra.

Because a good bbq needs a good stable and level surface and so does an esky. Steak and beer need this. Your comments are as yuk as lettuce.

A layer of lettuce under the meat stops the bottom of the burger bun getting soggy.

This seems like a good development. There's a few other potential uses.

That belay stance in the middle of Skink isn't really a good place to stand. Would anyone mind if I erected a platform there? I'm thinking galv rather than plywood, the zinc stains down the slabs would also help reduce lichen as a side benefit.

Also that lovely ledge in the middle of The Desired (19) is a great seat, but could use a bit of padding. Could anyone donate, say, half an old bouldering pad I could haul up there and fix?

What if I need to have a sitdown halfway up these routes? Retro-ledge?
