Feeling jaded?
Looking for an excuse to celebrate?
~> Then why not attend a Chockstone Gathering!

We haven't had one for a while now;… & since the 10th anniversary of Chockstone is coming up on 6/06/2012, maybe we ought to consider having one sometime this year.

~> It shouldn't be too hard to organise, if enough interest is registered.

Put faces to User-IDs, share the camaraderie of a rope, boulder-spot, swap warm'n'fuzzy campfire yarns, helpful techniques; … and for the obsessed, compare racks, discuss grades, etc!

This is the thread to register yay or nay interest if you plan to attend / or even if you don't intend to come, on what should prove to be an enjoyable time to meet, greet, and climb.

What do the forum persons (includes new members and lurkers!), reckon regarding; venue, suitable date, etc?

~> Post your ideas and let's get it happening!

Should it be at mt Alexanda. Mikes local or somewhere else? Anyhow since I gave up climbing 10 or so yrs ago because finding partners was hard, chockey has been a real bonus when I got back into it.

I want to be there when some of the 'interesting' characters meet face to face.
Gramps would suit me, vic range has good camping and heaps to climb (and very close to home).

I'll only go if ODH and Davidn agree to share a ride from canberra together and pick me up along the way.

I live right near a Dan Murphy's.

Which Dan Murphys?

I vote Mt Kiera the most gritstone like crag in the country, not in mexico and a drink drive to clintons rope swing on the picton bridge. I can advise of the local Dan Murphys. Also near south beaches krondoff traverse, that should keep the mexicans happy uintil they remember he was IRA

Is there a Bunnings near Dan Murphy's? I might get you to pick up some zipties, a shovel, and a bag of lime.

Agreed, it's a VCC weekend at Araps that weekend too so no conflict of timings.

NB: eugowra isn't a piss take. Its borderish and has real climbing to offer. Another obviouis winter option is point perp. Up north there is bouldering potential dn.
