Well it doesn't matter whether the climber is male or female because the quote obviously means that the climber has a cat and cats aren't allowed at Arapiles so that means the climber can't camp at Arapiles and won't need a tent, so...

Of course the climber is a female you dipstick.

My place was never an option. I suspect she had better offers.

... and now that Hex is only a lurker, I thought that I was the only person who paid any attention to these things.
Welcome to having too much time on your hands (according to some), pedro22 !

Derek and I fully agree with you my dear, as it goes right to the (Ahh, what was that term you used again?), soul of the matter.

Just an assumption on my part, given my time on this site and noting his many user ids have all been 'disbaled' along the way.
For the character that he is I doubt he would not look in from time to time, and who knows, may one day agree to play by chocky mod rules and be allowed back?
Maybe one day hero has gone to find him and enliven the site, or failing that, commiserate with stugang?

'Life is a bad joke designed to stop you climbing.'

Stated by Mikl Law, taken from Cookie's thread on looking for instruction, I laughed.
Then I almost cried. Now it grates at me...

Who said that?

I can see it applying to mountaineering but not really climbing in general.
