A bunch of climber type / skilled rope workers build a hovering spa / pool with 24 people all enjoying a nice dip hovering under a bridge (pont du Gueuroz.)

Lots of ropes and rigging etc... Quite impressive considering the time and thought gone into it...

It's not in english but the pics explain the story.

Looking at the gear they're all climbers not riggers. Not sure I would have trusted it.

Yeah I thought the same. couldn't quite work out what was backing up each climber cause there wern't 24 ropes plus supports holding it up.

Apparently only 4 CAMS and no HEX's were used .... Amazing ?? ;-)

It does look like the supporting cables are wire. but it is hard to tell...

+1 for nuding up....

I agree. And the ratio of guys to girls looks all wrong too. What a stupid waste of time.

Why don't the VCC organise a big spa in the middle of the Pines at Arapiles? What better way for climbers to congregate in the evening once the campfire ban is in place.

Maybe a 'facility' like this could be installed in a back room at the Nati Cafe? ;-)

The construction photos as they were building it, clearly show eight steel cables with shackled ends supporting the structure.
The two end-stabilising lines might also be cables ...

I would trust the integrity of the materials, but would have liked to have seen more closeup details on the anchor system. It appears they have simply slung with industrial size blue slings, the concrete ballistrade in various places and then shackled the cables to those slings.

~> I can't imagine traffic authorities in this part of the world being keen on giving permission to use their structures in this manner!

~> I also doubt that the polystyrene style helmets that many of them were wearing, would do much for their protection, if something had been accidentally dropped from the bridge above.
