So, in Darwinian terms, if we increase safety at the crags we increase the number of retards?

Toproping Spinning Blades would scare the shit out of me. I'm not sure you'd deck, but it'd be very interesting for quite a way. Same for anything in the Grease Cave.

I realise this is supposed to be tongue in cheek, and I've no idea what climbau's preferences are, but this is the kind of lazy comment that screams homophobia or at least denigration of gays. No idea if that's how it was was meant, but that's how it reads. I know I've said similar stuff in the past (not here), but I'd like to think we can all develop a little more tolerance. Noticing it is the first step.

Your assuming climbau is a bloke....that could be stereotyping too......oh when will it end !!! :)

I wasn't. I specifically said I had no idea what their preferences were, although admittedly that didn't make it clear that I didn't know and didn't care about climbau's gender either. My point was that a large number of denizens here are blokes, and that the default assumption is that someone is a bloke.

Would you prefer I had a whinge about assuming girls are incompetent and wussy?

f___ it, I'm sick of arguing on the internet. I'm going to take the WWS approach and have a beer. And maybe unleash a torrent of abuse in a few beers' time.

EDIT - Stupid flaming profanity detector. I don't mind having it sanitise me, but DON'T MUCK ABOUT WITH MY CAPITALISATION!

Not that I have heard of. Is it even in the new guidebook?

No. Thankfully classics like 'Dog Sprog' & 'Latex Lady' have avoided the dreaded name change....

Geez! I'd hate to have to try and explain to you lot that I was an hemaphroditic, bisexual, transgender surrender monkey!!!

But to clarify my former post. Don't add bolts or change positions of them. Stick-clips, draw monkeys, and the ability to make decisions based on my own judgement are all the tools I need to survive a climbing day at Nowra.

& more importantly, is this what it takes to climb at Nowra?

You know, is it possible for someone to delete all the off topic rubbish from this thread? (including this post)?

There is some useful information here, but having to trawl through the trash is an unpleasant waste of time.

IMO.

Under that criterion 90 per cent of Chocky would disappear. One person's anger-inducing waste of time is another person's amusing waste of time...

Don't be too cynical. If you think Chockstone is bad, try this:

Supertopo is totally fuked. It's just a bunch of old guys posting about how much they love their wives and daughters or looking for support through 'tough times' or being downright redneck Americans. I love (hate) all the gun threads and conspiracy bullshit. You never read about climbing much at all. I just don't understand fucing seppuku climbers.

They're American. Some of them love their wives. They climb (or, in the case of many of the Supertopo personalities, used to climb). Which bit are you having trouble understanding?

I'd argue for all the gun and ark on the moon threads, supertopo has at least 10 times the quantity of decent climbing related threads/posts than chockstone. Not that I'm necessarily arguing it's better on average, given it probably has 100 times the volume of posts at least.

It's not like anyone forces you to look at the threads titled "Why are Republicans Wrong about Everything?", "The Gun debate sandbox" or "Poll: how many bodily fluids have you ingested?" (just to pick a few) - you could chose to check out the trip reports or climbing related threads instead.

Hell, there's even an inquiry about climbing in Apollo bay on front page at the moment (no - I am not the author). Go respond to it.
