These are the four main companies I have been looking at.
RatRox: A Sydney comapny. Their new formula and shapes are absolutoly awesome, and the price is right.
Uncarved Block: Also in Sydney, they have hundreds of shapes, with awesome texture. Magical holds, the texture is not rough, just fine like sand paper. Heaps o' grip! The only downside is they tend to polish easily, especially the slopers used as footers when higher.
Mingy Goat: New, small company, their holds are limited in range, but the feel and texture are pretty good. Reasonably priced too.
The Pitch: The place to get X-es holds, which are quite good, with great grip, but the harsh texture tends to take off the skin after a while. Good though, best priced sets i've found so far.
I've done a lot of research on this topic of holds, trying to find the best deals for the little ammount of money i have.
TEXTURE:
1. RatRox
2. Uncarved Block
3. Mingy Goat
4. X-es
SHAPES:
1. Uncarved Block
2. RatRox
3. Mingy Goat
4. X-es
VALUE ($):
1. Mingy Goat - Set of 40 for $250
2. X-es - Set of 30 for $160
3. RatRox - Set of 10 for approx. $80
4. Uncarved Block - Set of 36 for $332
Overall, its a tough choice between RatRox and Mingy Goat for the best vaued hold..
