Having a Product REVIEWS section on Chockstone?

If it is possible to incorporate a reviews section, would you find it useful?

I know from previous discussion when a request was made for an independent Videos Section on Chockstone, that layout space is at a premium on Chocky, so the idea I am floating here might sink before it gets very far...

Is it possible to have a Product Review Section; ... possibly as a subsection of either Gear-lust or For-sale Section, if it can't be done as stand alone?

I have noticed over the years, that Chocky Users have a wealth of knowledge that they are prepared to share about what gear works for intended purpose and any limitations it may have.
Recurring themes in the past have been tents, sleeping bags, etc; not to mention the many 'best rope, best slcd, best passive pro' type discussions...

Doing a search for specific things is easy enough, but generalised items and thread-drift items are harder to find now that Chocky content has grown.

What's wrong with the existing Gear Lust & Found section?

There is info in the gear lust section but it'd be great to have a focus on discussing the pros and cons of specific bits of gear, easier to search when considering a purchase. Especially with lots of new gear coming out; I'd be interested in hearing anyones experience with the Elelrid Jul belay devices, or "guide" type belay devices, or any of the new gear from DMM, or the weird Kong Gipsy. Is all this stuff real advances in climbing technology or just part of a marketing cycle. Will it change climbing. Would any of it get taken up — I personally stick to gear I know (/can afford!) … but interested in the new stuff all the same, aka gear lust.

Short answer = thread drift.
A typical example of thread drift (& I am the culprit in this case), is the current For Sale thread of Powermonkey Solar Charger, and there are a lot of other 'obscure' threads where gems of information are lost within...

To be a bit clearer, what I had in mind is probably closer to what appears in the books / movies / etc, - review section of Chockstone, ie specific to item involved, but perhaps presented as a subsection-link of Gear Lust?

Sorry to get anyones hopes up, but I have just had offline feedback from Mike (Chockstone site author), who has indicated that he is pressed for time to introduce such changes to Chockstone these days.

Could include "gear review" in the subject line so it'd show up in a search.
