Has anyone heard anything about or used one of these new devices.

They sound like a long awaited competition for the gri gri

weight:
GRi gri: 225g
Cinch:150g

ropes accepted:
GRi gri: 9.7 -11mm
Cinch: 9.6 - 11mm (woww!)

cost:
Cinch is cheaper

how they work and whether they do exactly the same thing i dont know.

Anyone used em?

I'm also interested in the cinch after seeing it in the current Climbing magazine (US). A quick google search gives some information.

No comment about moderators deleting MM's helpful reference :(

*edit: looks like MM moderated himself, the funny bugger.

Hi MM

I have downloaded all instructions we have for Cinch onto the website please see link below

I can tell you that the Cinch we have has the fixed pin, although pic on website is without a pin will change that for you soon.

hey mark, have ou actually got a physical one yet? if so, how does it feel? it looks smaller and thinner then the gri gri, and i know people on rc.com have been talking about the small release lever, and it seems quite small to handle.

Hey

Hows things Rob?

Yes we have been selling these for around 2 weeks now and they are going well.

The Cinch is lighter and thinner, (fits in the palm of your hand) it also has made lead belaying much easier (well for those who use a gri gri). My opinions may seem to be seen as bias, so I will leave it up to you guys to have your say once you have one or have played with one.
