Hi, has anyone used these boots? They are very comfy and light and seem more just like hiking boots, but I was wondering how waterproof they were and how good they are for climbing. Cheers.

they say gtx - that means they have goretex lined. so they'll be waterproof for at least the first few hundred kms. after that you'll have to take care of them.
never climbed in them so I can't comment on the second bit.

I've only tried the Trangos on in a store and they are luverly! Alpine climbing boots, so very stiff and designed for mountaineering and waterfall ice climbing. I've heard that they're not as warm as other boots on the market and are more suited to waterfall ice 'cragging' and summer mountaineering.

a mate had the old Trangos (ie pre gore-tex) & they were great for NZ summer stuff. Just had to keep up the snowseal to keep them waterproof.

Yeah the older Trangos were famous for leaking like sieves...much to the bane of many a Scottish climber!!!

yep, those boots are super rad. they climb awesome. great on rock - grippy, flexible and narrow toe box to get into cracks. seemed pretty good on ice but i don't have much to compare them too. they're not super-durable though: the sidewalls on mine are wearing through after a couple of outings. they'd be sweet for nz summer climbing, but not warm enough for winter. light is right!
