Hi all
Look for some feedback on a woodie I'm thinking of building as have some left over timber from a job.
The timber i have spare that I was going to use for the frame is 90mm x 35mm x 2.4m non structural pine then 19mm ply for the face and as want it to be free standing I'll use 90x90 posts to hold it all up. My garage has a 2.9 meter high ceiling.
So thinking will have a 400mm vertical section at the base to screw footers to then a 2.7m section at 30 degrees this then takes the woodies over all height to 2.74m so will fit in easy height wise. Can only make it 2 meters wide so hoping it's still useful.
So my main two questions are considering the above plan will the timber I want to use for the framing be okay and also will the size be useful or is it going into too small territory?
Thanks
Martin

if it is dressed pine it is structural maybe only F5 could be F11 either way will work . try supporting it at both end then stand on it if it holds will be fine

Framing timber sounds OK. Don't forget ply is supper strong (stronger than steel by weight), so as long as your frame ties it all together and stands the thing up you can expect plenty of stiffness from your 19mm ply.

2 metres wide is quite narrow and more suited to a systems board, but I've trained successfully on walls not much bigger,
In fact Malcolm Smith did okay with his primary wall being not much wider... ;-)

The materials you have sound fine to me. I used 90 x 45 pine at 16 inch intervals and its more bomb proof than the house! i use 17mm plywood and it DOES NOT MOVE!!!!!
Sounds like youre on track.

Thanks everyone for the help. Will hopefully get stuck in to building the wall soon as had to do other things around the house.
Any ideas for cheap holds?

ICP climbing holds seems to be very competitive unless you can get bulk packs overseas somehow. Noone ships them!!!

ICP holds are great, but totally the opposite of cheap!
Uncarved Block are always good, and Big Red do some great low profile holds for harder stuff.
Making a few wooden holds is also a good option to save money
