I have recently moved here from overseas and wanted to bring some friends climbing. I have tried as many places as I could around Melbourne to hire climbing shoes and came up empty after an houe of phone calls.
The only place I have found anywhere nearby is Arapiles Mountain Shop - (03) 5387 1529, which is 4 hours away.
Is the VCC an option?
Can anyone give me advice I want to take them top roping at Weribee Gorge to start and don't want to go to Arapiles to hire shoes.
Cheers

No. The VCC don't hire out gear.

Why don't you ask if anyone has old shoes to give away or lend? If it's a matter of starting with some top roping at Werribee Gorge, that should suffice ...

I have a few extra pairs of loaner shoes and can hook you up, if the shoe fits;) When do you need them?

That was my first thought too but they don't list it on their website anymore.

Thanks for the offers, I gave up this last weekend after striking out at stores. But I am still keen on going soon. Thank you for the support, it is weird to me that no store in all of Melbourne rent out shoes.
I guess I will have to get some of them to go to Arapiles next time :)
Yeah I tried cliff hanger and they don't rent out shoes anymore either.
