Found: #5 Camalot Summerday Valley

I was climbing in Summerday Valley on Saturday the 26th, so a few days ago now, and I found a brand new number 5 Camalot wedged in the top of a climb. To be honest the name of the climb escapes because it wasn't super memorable, however it was a grade 15 off-widthy crack thing on the main wall maybe called Frogs Hollow (??). The cam came out within 2 or 3 minutes so I really don't know why whoever was climbing left it.

Anyway, I'd like to give whoever lost the chance to reclaim it- because those are really expensive. So send me an email if it's yours

The climb was Frog Hollow (15), just right of Walking on the moon (18) on the main wall.

Really anybody could claim this as he's pretty much given all the details of where he found it. It would be a dogs act if it was claimed not by the original owner but someone else...

Maybe the claimer should have to identify the racking biner, and maybe describe the relative state of the cam (shiny and new, or scuffed and old). Just a thought, it'd be a shame for the cam to end up in the wrong hands.

It'd be surprising if a racking biner was left there, unless someone felt the need to bail off a #5 cam. I think we're relying on a description of a distinctive mole on the cam's left buttock at this stage, unless the cam answers to the name Cam or something.

Bonus karma points to the OP for trying to get it back to its original owner, though.

well for some bizarre reason the biner was still there. So if you ID the biner that should be reasonably fair indication that they are the owner

Why don't you just accept booty when it falls in your lap? If someone bails off a 15 leaving a cam behind it's gone... their safe and you have a new addition to your rack.
