Static Rope "Souvenired/stolen/borrowed"

About 18 months ago, I fixed a piece of brand spankin' 40m static to the serpentine belay anchors complete with top of the line rope protector sleeve. The rope was donated by the smiling assassin Steve Pollard and I purchased the rope protector.

The aim of this was to provide access for people wanting to gain access to the ledge to try Serpentine, Rage, Sidewinder or the new addition, Angst. It was also nice for people who had done the first pitch already to not have to do it over and over again.

Earlier this year I believe, a good friend of mine who is sadly missed, Athol, decided the rope was no longer needed, despite having used it a few times himself... Cheeky bugger. I was told he removed it and lovingly placed it in the cave below the start of the route. I don't actually have a problem with this at all, in fact, when I found out that it was Athol who took it down I couldn't help but laugh and was looking forward to sledging him about it next time we caught up... :(

What I do have a problem with, is someone deciding that they needed a 40m static for themselves. The rope was removed sometime earlier this year. I'm pretty sure someone wouldn't think a 40m static left at the base of Taipan was booty?? Anyway, long story short, If you could kindly return the cord to me, or even better, back to the belay ledge, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Phil

Twas there is the cave in mid Jan when I was down there. Wishing it was was on the route at the time as it wouldve saved the epic of carrying my static out and setting it up. Was still there in the cave when we left!
