Can anyone recommend any websites where I can get reasonably priced north face products. I'm looking for either companies in Aus, or companies that will ship to Aus.
Thanks

No offence mate, but why???
Personally, I can't think of a single product they make that someone else doesn't do better, for less. But if you really do want to get their gear from o/s, then I'd contact Valhalla Pure Outfitters, Vancouver. ph 1 604 872 8872. They have a huge stock of TNF, and ship to Australia for cheap. I know cos I used to work there!
Cheers

Thanks for that, obviously you are not a fan of their products. What I'm looking for is a small light weight tent, someone recommend to me the Roudrunner 23. I'm really not that fussed on the brand of tent I get as long as it is small and lightweight.

He he, you've proved me wrong! If you're after a fairly lightweight tent with two doors and vestibules, it's not a bad choice actually. Unless you're more than 6ft tall.
Personally, I'd go for a Mountain Hardwear Approach or MSR Hubba Hubba. Both are significantly lighter (900g for MSR, 450g for the Approach), about the same price, but have only one door. The Approach is a strong tent, the MSR won't put up with galeforce winds.
If you're going to get the Roadrunner, get the new one with the silicone flysheet...

I heard of a new shop in Melbourne, that stocks TNF gear.
Extreme Mountain Spirit
268 Swanston St.
Melbourne

I have not been there, but it's worth a shot.
Good luck, Jens

Mark, I agree that is was SPAM and have deleted! But the fact is that moderators are not online every minute (I do surprisingly try and get some work done also), so rather than straight away jump up and down...

Sorry, to be honest it was just my sense of humour I didnt mind wether it got deleted or not. I thought the post was actually ok. A climber from the community asks for gear advice such as where can he/she buy it from. Somebody posts a reply that helps him to get the gear he/she wants. For the climber they get the result they want.

The North face shop in melb is crap, only consumer, 'lets look pretty' crap, no technical stuff. But for all you padagucci out there, it's perfect!

Personally i rarely, if at all possible never ever ever buy from "gear" shops, they are helpful, nice, well set out etc but they are a major rip off. Go to your local climbing gym they may or may not be able to get the product you want, however if they can i would expect a greatly reduced price as is common when purchasing gear through a gym. Only down side is you have to order what you want and wait for it.

Many NF products are superb. Their giant Duffel Bags, for instance are world-beaters. I own three and have bashed them up and down crags and hills for over 8 years. You can mail order them and other NF, Karrimor and other brand from Field and Trek, UK, and often with a 20% discount.

lol i've got a NF jacket that i bought from a place in China, it's great i love it... even if it is fake!!!
it's supposedly Gore Tex, but actually has never soked through and i've taken it skiing, hiking and so on. it's warm and wind proof too. im assuming it's fake cos it's from China but it's still really well made and i can't find fault in it and for about $30 Aus dollers, it's pretty good!!

Yes.
I believe a fair number of epics have been had there, though I only know of some details 5th hand anecdotally so to speak.
Others better informed than I can fill you in if you start a thread for it.
