Neither have I, but a friend recently sent me a picture from Kalymnos which was pretty gobsmacking. Here it is:

Apparently, the shoe front and centre acquired its hole while being worn by a climber who was struck by lightning. The climber survived; the shoe did not!

I've been struck a bunch of times .......... in an aircraft. The entry/exit points look kinda similar to that shoe! Lucky bugger!
