good reason to wear a helmet (and dreds)

here's a couple of pics of the damage caused to crystals helmet from rockfall in patagonia. her dreds and helmet proabaly saved her life. another smaller rock hit her in the face.

pretty impressive...curious to know how much you think the dreds really helped or is it just something
that made the incident funny/memorable in hindsight.

also did a climber knock off the rocks or was it natural rockfall?

the dreds would've helped absorb/cushion the impact on her skull (i think!)

The fact that there are dreds, means there's not much brain to damage!

Vegos have even less brain mass.

Whoar! That's a very cool outcome, relative to a potentially very nasty situation.

I really do think dreads make a difference to impact absorption. I cut mine off to save weight, but it was a poor trade. They're on the way back.
