Does anyone have any info about a climber falling at Mt York and being helicoptered out with injuries? It was reported in the local paper in the Blueys, but I haven't heard anything further. Anyone know which climb? Apparently he fell about 5 metres.

nah everyone heard about it at the time but i havent had any other info- the best guess we could make frmo the reports was that he was about 5m up & fell, pulled some gear & broke both ankles

we are part way thru compiling a report for the Australian Accident Register website -

climber was leading Birdsnest, got to a bolt, put bolt plate on, thought he'd clipped it with draw but moved
past and it became evident he hadn't clipped it. was climbing back down to sort it out, fell off broke 2
talis bones and dislocated right talis at ankle insertion. details a bit hazy on reason for confusion re lack
of connection. we will post details on the site soon with hopefully more info.
