At least 12 sherpas kiiled on Everest.
A terrible tragedy on Everest. I cannot imagine the impact this will have on the sherpa community.
Sadly, I presume the Everest circus will carry on regardless.

:(
Sad news indeed.

I wonder if a fund will be set up, to help their families..? ... As like what often happens in the countries of expat climbers when they get caught by similar tragedy.

My sherpa friends were in the hospital as the first sherpas were coming in from the mountain.
It is a very very sad time for the nepali and sherpa communities, and illustrates that everest is NOT a mountain to 'just go and climb'

Thoughts are with the friends and families.

National Geographic Magazine November 2014 issue, has a poignant 34 page (spread includes many photos), article on this tragedy, with a focus on the aftermath ripple-effects from Sherpa perspective.

I found it to be a fairly objective report of a tragedy with many strands to it.
