Anyone know the outcome of an accident off one of the Araps crags last Sunday ?
Heard that a chap fell from around 6-8 metres whilst leading at around high teens/20 & decked out whilst leading & decked out on his back/head.
* Anyone know about it/how he is ? (think he was taken to hospital later Sun night ?)

If you are refering to my decking on Hyena on Sunday....
I got into a tangle near the top and took an sudden unexpected dive. A good hex held the fall, however the rope ran through the belayer's hands which is why I ended up on the ground. He got some nasty rope burn on his hands. I got some bruises and a donk on the (helmetted) head, but otherwise OK.
A cam a little above the hex did pop, so it sounds like a gear rip and hit the deck scenario - but it wasn't. I certainly wouldn't be here slacking off at work and typing away if it was! The girl leading on Beaut Possibilities nearby who saw it all got a real scare, sorry to who-ever you are.

Hey Stu, I told you you'd be better off coming to Taipan with us. First you paddle over the tsunami, now walking away from a grounder, you should buy a lottery ticket!

Hi Stu, good to hear that you are ok. Heard this 3rd hand through my friend Louise who you climbed with on Saturday @ the Watch Tower whilst I was pitching up Bard with Scotty.
She was pretty worried about you after seeing you at the plaque later & then hearing that you had been taken to hospital with possible internal injuries/concussion. I will let her know that you are ok; well ok enough to sit @ a keyboard at least !
Notice you are living at Shepparton = We used to solo the 60M Radio Australia short wave towers 10km nth of Shepp in the 1960's.

Bugger! Hope you didn't aggravate any old injuries. Has your hand fully recovered from Thailand yet?
We should sort out a weekend to go back and look at some of those things in the north-east before the weather gets to crappy. In the meantime, happy slacking off...

Jeez Stu, you know what they say about things happening in threes. Remind me not to belay you until after your next near-death experience. ;)
Seriously though, glad to hear you're ok.

Good to hear that your ok stu, Hyena's harder than it looks eh, exiting the crack can be quite an exercise in contortion if you miff the sequence. Anyway, hope this didn't spoil your weekend.
