Perfect hands to tight arm bar - probably more pumpy than techy I would have thought. I reckon his second (the smaller female belaying) would find it a lot harder.

Have you climbed on Aussie granite yet Oli? It usually has teeth. A lot of the wide cracks are rounded out bum-flares so you end up with your whole leg shoved in a sharks mouth while you squeeze your foot into a vice lined with broken glass!

The best footwear for the job is loose fitting, thick, and at least knee-high......Miuras wouldn't be my first choice.

I have a pair of La Sportiva Kaukulators that I wear at Buffalo and occasionlyat Booroomba.

Totally with you on this Damo.

However, there is something strangely empowering when you keep climbing with shredded limbs.
