Feathertop this weekend

Hi guys,

Another thread on Mt Feathertop sorry. I'm thinking to head up there this weekend since this week seems to be pretty chilly and I'm hoping there is a good freeze up there. I'll be heading up early on Saturday morning can look to leave by about midday Sunday. So if anyone would a ride up to that area on the weekend I have room in my car, and keen to share petrol costs.

dam, if i wasn't heading up the following week tot ski i'ed go.. Will you be going in august? I'm looking for people too haha

Hi Hugh,

Yep can make a weekend in Aug also. Would be keen to explore some of the steeper slopes of the mountain also if conditions permit...

Weekend of the 8th of August Feathertop will be packed if you want the mountain to yourself then the 8th isn't the best idea.

If it's a good freeze you're after then this weekend is looking pretty terrible - substantial precip forecast with the freezing level at 1700m. If it rains it will blow goats all weekend and be a slopfest, and if the cold air comes through fast (we can but pray) then you'll be post-holing everywhere. Take skis or take a kayak to pretty much any alpine stream, since with this forecast they'll all be running this weekend.

yeah mate, will have to wait til i get my uni timetable then work something. But august is looking good!

There'll be lots of activity in August with two VCC trips planned (8th and 15th). I'm planning
to be up next weekend and again on the 15th.
