Hi guys,

I am a really really raw beginner at climbing. It is a nice surprise that most people classify themselves as beginner in these posts (meaning - climbers have a fair degree more humility than most other things I've been involved in - where it's easy to be a hotshot at the pub).

Anyway - I am confident rigging / abseiling as I have done a fair bit of caving/cave diving - but I have only really had 2 sessions of technique work at the local indoor gym in actually climbing.

I am looking for a similar person to climb 1-2 nights a week in the gym, and possibly share in the technique sessions - and maybe once a month outdoors.

Please let me know if you're interested:-

Tony, probably helpful if you let the folks know where (indoors) you climb..

thanks gareth - sorry - I am in eastern suburbs of victoria.

I am learning technique at hardrock in forest hill

Snr Mighty Mouse:- As for "buying the whole cave diving rig" - don't think it was me!! I've built my gear up quite slowly...

re calling yourself a beginner - there's a tradition of understatement in climbing. I quite like it.
if you go to the "favorite 3 climbs" thread you will find that half the 'beginners' here climb pretty bloody hard!
