Hi,
I've just arrived in sunny Melbourne and am extremely keen to get to Araps to make some sort of base camp. I am a trad climber at heart but enjoy bouldering and sport and just about any type of climbing. I would really appreciate a lift up that direction. I stayed in Araps for a number of months four year ago and remember that late Friday night, keen climbers from Melbourne would start to arrive. I'm hoping the same thing still happens, and if so someone might have room for me and my gear (rack, ropes, pad, tent etc). Of course I'll be happy to chip in for fuel and keep the driver entertained with banter and hopefully amuzing climbing tales. Happy to climb anything with anyone also - basically very keen to get on the rock.
I'm heading to the climbing wall in Nunawading tonight (Tuesday) in a hope to find someone. If by chance you read this beforehand and are heading there yourself and could possibly help me, then you can't miss me - skinny, slighty pale (UK!) and long dredds with glasses.
Please give me a shout on my mates Steve's mobile if you can help at any other time before the weekend - 0419 512 567 - my name's Squib. Cheers

Sorry mate, Arapiles and the Grampians got closed last year to all visitors. We all climb at the You Yangs now.

Yep, everyone goes to the Burnley bouldering wall now - it's closer to the pub and the publican is nicer...

Sorry Squid, those other guys are all liars. I highly recommend the Nati pub now though. The Pines camping area is full of infectious dirtbags who will pass on their puss infections to you. The pub is much better. Ask for the lady who is the publican - she gives half price for climbers. You can also take your own food in to the bar area, buy take-away (off-licence) beer and drink it out the back in the beer garden, and plug your laptop and mobile into any power point to recharge the batteries. The place is a hoot these days!!!

Wot, like about 20 other climbers who are regularly at Nuna?
There was a crusty dredd thread a couple of years back. Someone more computer literate than me might dredge it up for you.

Our trip is contigent on finding people to help pay for our petrol.
