Hey All,

Looking for people to climb with around Canberra from this Thurs 7th to Sun 10th (this week). I have all the rack you can imagine! Prefer short walk in's. Will be on the road over the next two days so just give my mobile a call - 0428712360. Will get back to you if I'm out of range.

Also if anyone has a spare bed or backyard I can crash in on Friday and Sat night I'd appreciate the offer!

Colin.

Widewetandslippery and I are heading down on Friday night. We are looking at doing some multipitch stuff at Booroomba, though, so it's not really what you'd call a short walk in. Sunday, we might hit the Orroral Ridge, which fits the short walk in bill. I'll put your number in my phone.

Capt_Mulch might me your man. He's a pro-active kind of chap, who is normally up for a climb.

Don't know about digs. Most Canberra backyards will be pretty wet this week. Mulchy has Fantini staying in his garage, which is actually Fantini's garage but that's a long story. We will be camping out at Booroomba or Honeysuckle Creek. Look for a blue and black Express van. That's me.

Good luck.

Luckily Mr. Fantini has left!! I'm on for a climb - was even thinking about camping at the campground at Honeysuckle Creek (near Orroral Ridge) on Saturday night (Sat. afternoon bouldering with beers in the H.C. campground anyone?) and getting some Orroral Ridge on Sunday too. Let me know!! PM me!!

Honeysuckle Creek camp ground. You have to get to Tharwa via Point Hut crossing (near the suburb or Gordon) as the Tharwa bridge is still closed.

How did things go, we climbed at Honeysuckle on Sunday and had the crag to ourselves.

That's normally the case with Honeysuckle. I've always had it to myself when I've been there. I think the fact that it's 20 mins up hill and there isn't really a track puts people off. I think it's a top little crag and the view from the top is excellent.

We climbed at the Cloisters on Saturday and Legoland on Sunday. Colin had a climbing accident last year and has problems with rough or long approaches so we tried to stay as close tot he car as possible.

A trip report will be coming soon. Actually two trip reports may be coming soon as we met up with Capt_Mulch Saturday arvo and he loves a good trip report.

Many thanks to wallwombat and WW&S and Capt mulch for a good weekend. Plenty of beer, bullshit and a little climbing as well. Might see you at frog during the cooler months.

I'll be in Canberra from Sat 5th April till the 12th and would love to go up to Booroomba, weather permitting. Is there anyone who'se got time next week to lead an old man up some classic slabs?

Post edit: Shit. Been almost a year and I'm back in Canberra. Still looking for someone to climb with. Any fellow atheist communists out there who are shopping for flat screen tvs and want to go climbing? Or at least hit the bars of the town?

G'day Canberra climbers

My climbing partner is pregnant (again!) so I'm looking for partners to climb/boulder with around the
Canberra region. I have a car (small 2WD) and full rack. I'm not fussy on what I climb but my sense
of adventure is tempered with a healthy level of self-preservation. I'll be in Canberra for at least the
next two years.

Anyone interested for a climb this Sun? Over Christmas I'll be doing the
usual Canberran thing and leaving - returning early Jan.

Cheers

Mike

If you are going to be in Canberra for a couple of years it might be worth joining The Canberra Climbers Association.

http://www.canberraclimbing.org.au/home.aspx

They have a Google Groups message board thingo here.

http://groups.google.com/group/canberraclimbers/about?hl=en

I don't think you have to be a member to get on the message board but you'll have to go to it and email the administrator (he's a bit of a c0ck) to be able to post. Once you do that, you should be able to get partners there.
