the piles in the first week of december?

Hey
I am hoping for a ride to Arapiles from Melbourne in the first week of December.
I’m coming “home” on Sunday the 3rd of December and would like to get to The Mount as soon as possible!
Seeing that I have been in Europe for the last 2 ½ years you might have to deal with a ridiculous amount of excitement and reminiscence.
Two free seats and space for our packs for pine living are needed.

The train/bus service is always available to Horsham. From there, Just start walking with a carabiner on you back-pack, some local climber/serial killer will give you a lift.

Like was said above. The best way to go is grab vline from spencer street at 8:05 AM on wednesday and get a ticket to Horsham. It costs 17.20 for concession which is way cheaper than gas or 34.40 for adult. If your creative you can get concession from the ticket guy pretty easily. $35 is a little steep but at least you dont have to worry about a ride.
This Luke guy is making a mistake telling you to hitch in to Araps. You CAN hitch, I have many times. But it is way easier to take the local bus from Horsham to Araps. They drop you off at the phonebooth! It costs like $3 and leaves at 2:00 from the same place that Vline drops you off, in front of the old police station. Also this gives you time to buy food and stuff. You can leave your bags in the office while you shop. Ive caught the first flight out of Hobart in the morning and have been climbing by 3:00 at araps. Vline takes 4 hours to Horsham and is cheaper than gas if you have concession. No point buying a return ticket. You dont save much and can probably get a ride back from Araps. December in Araps? I hope you have a bikini and a gallon of sun screen! Last december it was 35 in the shade and the flies were freakin horrible. The climbing is still the best. Have fun!
