Hello !

I moved to Melbourne recently and am looking for people to climb with on an on going basis. Currently house sitting in Fairfield but will be moving around until I find somewhere more permanent hopefully in the next month or so.

I am a brit who has lived between Sydney and London over the past few years but am now in Melbourne for the foreseeable. Good few years under the belt experience wise and in the past climbed sport up to about at 6b+and trad up to about an E1 however a little out of shape at the moment so probably starting at about 16 and work up from there on the Australian grading scale. Looking for people to hit the Gym with to stay in shape and then up for out door missions, and hopefully going to head to Mt Arapiles soon.

Working most weekdays at the moment but can be a little flexible so really if you need a partner anytime just shout !

Owen.

Hi, Owen. There's also a regular meetup at Hardrock CBD worth checking out:

http://www.meetup.com/rockclimbing-115/

I try to go on Mondays and have met some great people to climb with there. Let me know if you plan on going and I'll try and find you.

I've got my lead pass but don't bother taking a rope most weeks. Somebody else sometimes brings one though.

Hello Owen!

I just moved to Melbourne too. I m a climbing addict and always motivated for indoor/outdoor. Whenever you need a partner, just say it; lecatjerome@yahoo.fr / 0401603029

I can climb 17/18 os, and 20/21 rp after few tries. Got lot of quickdraws, 2 haness etc but doesn t have a rope yet (it staid in France...) nor a car.

lead climbing card at hardrock, definitively on starting block to discover grampians and arapiles and go camping there some days.

see you!

Hi,

Are you still looking for climb partners? I've just moved to Melbourne and looking for buddies to climb. Available on wkday evenings and also weekends.
Previously was doing about 6b (20-21) and keen to get back into it.
I don't have trad experience, can lead belay though.

Given the grades that people in this thread are climbing, I suggest you check out the VCC trip to Black Ians after Easter. Its an awesome crag with a mix of sport and trad that sits between the Grampians and Arapiles. Its also an opportunity to meet a whole bunch of climbers.

So Black Ians is open? Road in was closed a while back due to fires.

Yes, Red Rock Bushland Reserve (aka Black Ian's) is open.

The Black Range State Park remains closed.

Incidentally, it's worth knowing the actual name of some of these places. I'm pretty sure if you called 000 and told them you were at Black Ian's they'd have no idea where you were.

I have also just moved to Melbourne and i'm keen for joining you guys on some indoor ou outdoor climbing! I'm trying to go at least once a week to gyms so can get back in shape again for some outdoor climbing. Bouldering, sport climbing, anything would be great!

Hi y'all,

I also moved to Melbourne a while ago, and I am looking for people to go climbing with regularly. I have been climbing for a few years now, mostly outdoor sport (let's say around 21), but I am also interested in exploring trad a bit more, some gym indoor climbing during the week, or bouldering.

In general I have time during weeknights and weekends.

Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers

Cornelius
