climbing in the Vic Ranges this weekend

Anyone want to climb with me this weekend in the Vic Ranges? Hoping to go to Weirs Creek and/or a new cliff I found a while back, two 21's there so far, hopefully a harder line, cool spot, plenty of rock nearby to explore...
Failing that, happy to go anywhere...

How did you go? I should point out that even though the gate is open the road remains closed (last i checked), a mountain bike makes light work of the road though. PS - watch for falling rocks

Yes, emu foot track is closed, regardless of the state of the gate.

In defence of the three parties we saw there today (not to mention the numerous parties during the previous weeks if signs of traffic and unfortunate excrement examples at the badly eroding cliff base are any indication) the gate was wide open and there was not even the merest hint of a road closed sign. And before any do gooder jumps on any high horses, not all were environmentally vandalistic climber types - some were just camping out and enjoying the magic that is bush regeneration. We might have bemoaned the fires that took away our precious climbing sites for a while (well, in theory...) but to witness the recovery is something special I reckon.
And me? I grew up giving false names to rangers whilst mountain biking in the Adelaide hills so feigning ignorance wouldn't have been an issue - not that I would've needed to, of course.
As for the new cliff, it'll be a gem, but then isn't that what everyone says about their discovery? Time will tell. If you're ever up to leaving the beaten path well behind, and don't care about updating you're 8a scorecard or whatever, let me know, always keen to find people to take that cliched path less travelled!

No signs at all apart from the new road sign.While I suspect that feral 4WD people have chopped the chain closing the gate there is no indication that the road is supposed to be closed.
Strangely, as I have noted before, Matthew's Track just to the north is supposed to be open according to the Parks track report but the western end at Red Rock Rd was still locked and barricaded last time I was down a couple of weeks back albeit with some 4WD holes punched in the barricades. The east end of Matthews Track was open and allows access to Weirs in much the same time as the original. The positive of this approach is that the last 10 minutes back out to the car is not uphill.
Pretty disappointing to gather from f_abe that some people aren't burying their excrement in there. The in-situ trowel survived the fires (if a little charred) so there's no excuse for not digging a proper hole.
