Hi all!

I would like to start climbing weekly again instead of the random one offs. So looking for a climbing buddy near Alburry that wants to join me on tuesday nights for indoor climbing and outdoor climbing in the weekend. I normally climb anything between 15 and 22 and mainly have experience with sportclimbing but very keen to learn more about trad.

Cheers!

Goele

It is a good thing that you want to do more Trad, because there is not an abundance of sport climbing in this part of the world.

Here is a link to a similar thread request that I replied to a while back, and as far as I am aware the information it contains is still relevant.

The bloke who started that (linked) thread, would be worth contacting for adventure-trad as well, though I suspect he is a bit far away for regular Albury gym climbing(?).

PM this link...

Hi there, I'm in Albury and whilst I am not getting to the gym regularly at the moment, I try to get outdoors whenever possible - Monday evenings are looking good for regular bouldering/climbing sessions at Felltimber (just west of Wodonga). There are a few local climbers heading to Mt Arapiles over the Melbourne Cup weekend and if you're free, that would be a great way to meet some local climbers and learn about trad climbing. Send me an email anyway and we can keep in touch.

Just moved to wodonga myself. Had a session at felltimber this arvo. The thistles up there are out of control at the moment, my legs got thrashed. I'd be very keen for a climb next Monday arvo. Some of the routes look great.

If you want to try the dark arts of aid, then it is happening next weekend at Buffalo...

Also been in Wodonga 6 weeks and looking to climb perhaps every 2nd week indoors and perhaps monthly outdoors. Second up to 18, need to lead more to get back into it.

I'll be at the gym tomorrow night, so come along if you're keen.

Great to hear guys, welcome! There is a "Border Climbing Club" group on Facebook which you can join as well.

In case you didn't know, there are photo topos for Felltimber on thecrag.com .

I am struggling to get out regularly at the moment but hoping to do more in the new year.
