Hi, I just got to Sydney and want to do some climbing. I have all my climbing stuff with me including a 70 m rope. I heard there are some special bolts in the Blue Mountains where you need special equipment, I don't have this stuff. Whatever, if you are also looking for a climb, In- or Outdoor, let me know. My Phone number is Zero44987512Nine.

Hi,

I search to climb too! I'm in Blue Mountains now but impossible to climb because I haven't a rope and you are right many of routes are trad, you must have special equipment, I only do sport climb or bouldering!

I think I go to Nowra it's a good place for sport climbing! I'm Swiss my english isn't so good but I very motivated to climb! Are you interested to go in Nowra??? I have my climb short (I don't know the name exactly) and 3 quickdraws! I just have a swiss number phone I cannot phone you maybe from a phone cabin!?

Hi Nico,
I actually live in Sydney right now and don't have a car, so Nowra is too far away for me. If you plan to stay longer in the Blue Mountains or in Sydney, let me know.
Have fun, Michi

Bolt Plates ? Just avoid yellow dots in the guide. Heaps of rings (red dots in the guide)in the bluies.

Hi, I am also looking for climbing partners, I live in Sydney, and can climb mostly at weekends, maybe in the afternoon during the week. I have my own gear, but no rope.
Cheers.

For low grade trad in Sydney, Barenjoey is probably the place. I can recommend Pledge A Legend (14) as a great little climb, although I recall a carrot, so maybe it should be classed as mixed

yeah, barrenjoey is great for low grade trad, most climbs do have a bolt or two but there is only a few fully bolted routes so gear is the go there mostly.
Cosmic Ecology (14) is great fun despite the intimidating start! Facet (15) is also pretty good and for an easy one, try orgasmic (11) - although my wife spotted a snake at the far back of the chimney a few weeks before christmas! :D For a little harder, at 18, Marsupial Smearer is great value with the crack at mid-height taking lots of great gear with a super airy mantle above it...
I get to barrenjoey a fair bit and would be keen for a mission, usually mid week. Drop me a message & if the weather looks good, maybe next week?
cheers, Brett.

Just wondering... Anything central?
As in Hills area, i found some bouldering at ted horwood reserve, but looks slimy and a little too short for trad?
bluies /barrenjoey would be day trips, anythingi can pop to on an evening?
thanks

check the crag map here.
It's not that up to date (i don't think mt kuringai is on it, but thats bolts anyhow) but it's a pretty good overview.

There is lots of gear route potential around the already developed Mt Kuringai areas.

I notice above a mention of not being able to go to nowra as they have no car. I have travelled to Nowra by train many times, even for a day. Its not so bad. The train trip is long so leave early and go back to sleep. Walk from station to north nowra bomaderry crags is an easy <30 min walk. Its bolted climbing so you don't need a heavy pack. Theres tits on at the Bomaderry Hotel on friday nights.

Hi I'm also looking for a climbing partner; most likely indoors (I only have boots and harness with me) but I'm willing to travel for an outdoor trip; it'll be on public transport though. I'm free pretty much any time until 25th Jan.

text me on 0450 018637

Hey all, I am in Sydney and keen to find climbing partners on a regular basis for the weekends. Happy to travel to the bluies, pt perp and looking to go away on weekends to Boroomba rocks, even tassie and araps. etc. Have all the gear, car and been climbing for about 6 years. Climb trad or sport, lead average grades.
Thinking of heading to araps in late Feb..any interest?
Post a mail to avenchagirl@gmail.com.au.

Cheers

Hello Sandra,

How are you? I saw your post on Chockstone about looking for climbing partners on the weekends. I lead around 6a-b sport(20+/aus), have been climbing on and off for 7 years, and am down to go anywhere. I'm extremely interested in developing trad skills this year, so any chance to climb trad would be a bonus. I'll be around this weekend, possibly away for three weeks after that, then back here for a substantial amount of time. I'm pretty easy going, and just like to climb and have fun.

Give me a shout if you're interested in climbing. 0406646649. Later!

p.s. i tried to email this to you but the address you posted isn't working.
