I thought "totally routed" conveyed your state quite well and evocatively.

What was the type of area that was under surveillance?

It appears to be an onshore detention facility for underemployed water authority workers.

That would be the Sydney water catchment, you cant walk there but Coal seam gas mining exploration is permissible....go figure.

And you can't MTB there, but the area is patrolled by rangers in 2-tonne 4WDs

And I guess you can't climb there even through they've moved massive amounts of rock to build dams?

+1 on that (which I noticed when doing the copy'n'paste), but I'm not sure that poetic irony is wide's thing as a main-line theme...

Dude,
You're getting too old for that kind of caper!
I think its high time you leave that hardcore gig to the young mofo, grow old gracefully, get you PG licence and head to cloudbase with the likes of Moss, Ado and me. You can have a full on day of action blasting around the sky....and not sweat a drop as you're floating around in an armchair! Up up and away....!

To GoUp Ive seriously considered.

The walk I did was 75 percent fire road, 25 percent doing something I should of tried to do in day light! Still, got some kms under the belt.

I agree with the comments above about the catchment area. WTF is a push bike going to do to a very well maintained dirt road, tthat often may be out of what one may consider "catchment".

The amount of feral animal poo that ends up in the catchment I am pretty sure overwhelms the amont of human poo. So what the problem with walkers.

I fully understand limiting vehicle access to prevent dumping (not the poo kind).
