Choss pile ???

Mate any time your out climbing not being hasseled by the boss, kids, traffic, the phone, the wife etc it's a good thing.

Climbing's climbing it's all part of the master plan. People pay money to climb on that artificial stuff.

Enjoy

yes quite true and we had a great day and got some much needed exercise!!

It started out with an anxious look out the window to check for rain and to my relief, none! Our warm up was Big Ears, 14m 15, lead by steph. Still really enjoyed it after about the third time i've done it!! Then i hopped on Androcles, 27m 16, my nemisis!! the last time we tried it the leader and i procrastinated and struggled to get over the little step, and eventually we retreated. So i got up to the lip with a bomber hex (9) in the base of the lip and attempted to reach up and check another placement, POP! off i was, my first fall on trad gear. I pulled the rope through and had another shot, this time getting my 11 hex nicely in above the lip, fell (good one this time), had another shot and finally managed to get my feet above the lip and mantle up. From then i kept looking at the amount of rope since my last pro and thinking: i don't want to fall again, so plug another piece in!! bit dissapointed i didn't get it clean but at least it's not a ghost now, so next time i'll get it. Our last climb was Spintrian, 30m 16. I found this really hard for a 16, i struggeled to clean the damn thing, and amazed that the leader (coach) managed to get the gear in from some of those positions, after a fair bit of panting (im very out of practise) i got up it!! By then it started to drizzle and we decided to leave a little early, so got home late afternoon and had nice hot chocolate to end a pretty cool day.
I realized just how much i had missed the crags and generally being outdoors in the bush, damn those winter months and various another events that prevented us from going!
Also is it just me or is that walk-in getting shorter and more enjoyable?? the first time we did that it was hell, now it's a pleasant walk through the bush!!
Cheers hope you enjoyed the read and had a good weekend.
Sabu.
