Just a very quick, simple question:

Will Red Rocks be far too cold at this time of year?

I like the cold, but I want to be able to do some climbing without freezing my nuts off...

RR, like much of the Vic Range, will be cold and more prone to rain than much of the rest of the gramps. Having said that, the area is complex, with walls facing in all directions. You will always be able to find some shelter, particularly in the Fat Fingered Freak area or further uphill in the Skull Cave or the Trench. Can't say you'd get too much sunshine though. So if it's not freezing, and is looking like showers, it's a goer. If it's really really cold, maybe stay away.

Actually, even it it's really freezing, it's still worth a trip. It's a fun area to explore, even if you never tie into a rope.

The climbs in the Grand Oral Disseminator area will be sheltered and sunny (if there is any sun)
