Heyo.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to camp near Mount Hope? I understand there's a caravan park in the town of Pyramid Hill.. anyone know what it's like. We'll be a group of at least 30 - some of us climbing at mount hope on a saturday, all of us going paintballing in moama on sunday :-)

Yep, there is a caravan park in Pyramid Hill. It is fairly basic and I don't think a group of 30 will be a problem as it's not high on the list of great tourist destinations. The pub up the road had an interesting collection of customers when I was last up there, they probably haven't moved since.

It is also possible to camp at Mount Hope but I think a group of 30 would be too large to stay in the one spot, there's a toilet but no water available.

I have always camped at the end of the track below Suicide rock, where there is a nice site for one or two tents but no facilities. For a group of that size the basic caravan park would be the better option. It is also just over the road from Pyramid hill itself, which offers a great view over the surrounding plains and has some good though limited bouldering.
