Was up near Tiger Snake Canyon last weekend and ended up going down a nearby walking trail (going north from carpark instead of NE / east to get to tiger snake canyon) and saw tons of great looking cliffs. I had a quick look at the beta for crags in the area, but most of the Wolgan valley stuff seems to be in quite a different area. Does anyone have any info or links to some climbs there or will I have to put my own up this weekend? :)

I'm not sure to be honest, I can't find decent maps with boundaries and where I was precisely. Why is it banned out of curiosity?

In short...... because Nat Parks are dickheads...but Im sure they got other reasons they came up with.....check the GNP POM to be sure though.....re boundaries .....use the "six viewer" topo maps, should have nat parks boundary on it.....

It's actually not banned. See:
http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/resources/planmanagement/final/GardensOfStone.pdf

So you can climb without permission around Carne's creek and in other area's with permission. At any rate from what I can see of the map the area I was thinking of was dead on the boundary, so full steam ahead and my original question stands!

I hope it's top access - looks like a mega-bash from the base...

Great photos.

There are some routes on a crag called "Loth Lorean", Glen Henderson and a few others did some stuff, about 2003. But that is more towards Rocky Creek. There are also a few routes between Sheep Dip (Twister) and Rocky Creek Canyons.

its some cliffs a mate found a few years back in an area north of Lithgow.

as far as we are aware there's been no ascents there apart from the few he has done, mainly due to the access. access was through some pretty full on 4x4 trails and permission off private land owners for access.
alot of potential, but your looking at atleast 6-8 hours to get access from Sydney so don't know who would bother ha.

the first time they went there was ground access which was horrible apparently but this time we had top access which was still a decent half hour swimming through healthy scrub bash then had to find a gully where our ropes could hit the ground.
