This is direct from "the horses mouth".
I have it on good authority that the traverse behind the HK Ward gymnasium at Sydney Uni will be gone for good when the building is demolished in July.
Access to it has been closed for a while.
Back in the day when men wore flairs and then lycra it was the inner city's answer to Lindfield rocks. This was in the time prior to climbing gyms and climbing was free but not easy.
I cant say i will miss it (too pumpy a traverse for me), but i know that up until its closure there were a few diehards still crimping their way along it.

what a shame! I can remember spending a lot of time there ~16 years ago!

Hopefully they won't make the same mistake as the chemistry building and build a new one to exactly the same design, it's their chance to build a good-looking and functional one!!!
Besides, that's not too much of a loss. the real loss will be when the wall behind the glebe police citizens boys club gets blocked off...

I've always been wary of it since seeing Evan BB rip his shoulder out of joint trying one of the crosses... although I only saw him after the medication had taken full effect!

Someone just needs to get a chisel out, reclaim the holds and find something a little more overhanging... preferably above a nice patch of lantana...
