Why are you looking for bouldering in an area full of climbers so you don't need to be lonesome? I believe there's some dws at riverside.

Nice logic Wendy. People only boulder because they can't find partners. *rolls eyes*
Surprisingly some people actual find bouldering as an activity enjoyable in its own right... Even Simey has finally seen the light.

Well, I don't really get why you'd choose to go to a world famous climbing area that is not at all known for it's bouldering only to go bouldering ... it's not Font or Stapylton or Castle Hill or Val di Mello ...

If people haven't gone looking, doesn't mean the area hasn't got potential?
I've gone to Arapiles before just to boulder. ;-)

My lasting memory of china climbing was the filthy sticky mud at the base of most crags. Once you got
2m up and started clipping bolts it was good. It's mostly limestone which doesn't seem to form boulders.
There is stacks of rock so I'm sure you'll find something good.

I don't boulder just because I can't find anyone to climb with, I boulder so I can take my shirt off.

Hey hey Matty J. How's the Chendu rockstar life going?
Its not exactly close by where you are but check out the bouldering in Qingdao on
www.climbinginchina.com and on www.udini.de
There are new big areas getting developed at the moment. Its only 2hrs from Tianjin (my hood). Also there are heaps and heaps of half assed bouldering areas within hong kong and it's surrounding islands.
Throw some power chords at the locals for me

Dave, cheers for that - have heard about the granite at Qingdao sounds like good quality and nice spot, next to the ocean and all.
Am looking into info for the stone forest at the moment - looks pretty crazy
- don't know whether that might be a sacred area or some such.
Also Huashan looks like it has the nicest white granite ever but not sure about proliferation of boulders - route climbing is banned on some of the cliffs there.

I remember seeing some photos of bouldering in China that looked outstanding - maybe try the Hong Kong climbers forum?
