SOLD - Full Trad Rack for sale

I’m living in London and travelling around and am flat broke so the time has come to sell my trad rack. It has been stored (properly) in Australia for the last 2 years and I have finally realised I am never going to get it sent over here, nor am I coming home anytime soon. In the interim other hobbies have taken over and hopefully the sale of this will get me a new bike frame...

All the gear is in very good condition and has always been looked after and correctly stored/transported. I would like to sell it complete and hopefully have priced it accordingly at way under replacement. A great way for a noob to get into the sport or for an old hand to get a lot of extra kit.

Please excuse the photos, they are the best my Mum could manage. If you are serious about buying it and the only thing stopping you is the need for full colour or more detail I can ask her to take some more. All the gear is located in Bunbury, W.A.

60m 10.5mm Beal Top Gun Golden Dry – Virtually perfect and handles beautifully

50m 11mm Edelrid – Has seen maybe 15 top roping sessions, hardly a mark on it

WC Rocks #1-10 – Used but in very good condition

DMM Wallnuts #1-10 – Almost new, I preferred the rocks so only took these up when I needed doubles

BD micro nuts #1-6 – Hardly used, turns out I don’t like small cracks

HB offset nuts #4-7 – As above, don’t like flared cracks either. 3 brass nuts and the smallest alloy nut.

WC Rockcentrics #5-9 – Used for setting up top ropes only, they look new but for some reason aren’t in the photos

BD Cams 12 in total - 0.4, 0.5, 2 x 0.75, 2 x 1, 2 x 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5 – All the mechanisms work perfectly and the slings are in good condition, apart from a small nick in one of the #3’s. A few of the bigger ones have hardly been used and I have never even placed the #5 or #6, although they have been dragged up a few climbs unnecessarily. The three u-stem cams are getting long in the tooth now so it would probably be wise to re-sling them.

Quick and trad draws 6x15cm, 4x60cm, 2x30cm with Omega Pacific straight gate one end and wire gate the other

3x120cm slings with biner

6 locker biners, prussiks, cordellete ect

Grivel nut key - Unbreakable

Shoes Scarpa size 10

Petzl Elios Helmet Large

I would like $1250 for the lot. Email gavmonery at gmail dot com if you need more info, photos ect.

You'd sell it more easily if you split it and put a price on everything. People just don't go around buying $1200 worth of second hand gear. And not everyone wants everything, but there's plenty of people that want to buy a set of nuts, or some cams to fill in their gaps.

I know this involves a little more effort on your behalf, and you're welcome to ignore it. But it is true.

I could split it but it's a bit much to expect my Mum to pack and send all the bits while I'm overseas. Not least for the fact that she thinks nuts are for eating and couldn't tell a cam from her elbow.

I agree no-one probably needs all this stuff in one hit but you never know. If someones been loving the gym or sport climbing and wants to launch into trad then this is perfect. They might end up with an extra rope or some draws but that's not exactly a bad thing. I'd have thought £1250 was a good price. A much older rack with a lot less gear sold on here last year for $1100 so I think this is a fair price. If you think I'm wrong then make an offer as I want it to sell.

I think it is reasonably priced. Of course you do need to allow a little bit on the price to haggle.

For sure I'd have bought it a year ago when I was starting up my rack. I spent over a grand on much less gear.

Your mum took good pics, especially with the 1920s feel sepia effect.

An enterprising lad would buy this rack for the asking price - then re-sell all the elements separately for a profit!

With all the whinging and complaining about people buying things from America and then selling them on here, half the 'stoners wouldn't buy it "on principle" due to someone else finding a way of making a profit...... (that they hadn't thought of)

Does your mum use skype? Do it in real time, "I'll have that one there".

At least she knows to use a cam if it's an elbow sized crack... size 3/4 - that's just details!

Sorry about the old £, it took me ages when I got here to stop saying dollar, now I'm stuck saying pound...
I'll pass on the photo compliments to Mum, she'll be chuffed. They are nicely focussed and I figured you all know the colours of this stuff anyway.

So - any takers?

Does ebay charge you a % of the reserve price even if the item doesnt get sold? or do you have to pay just to advertise with a reserve?

With 9% of sale price, plus paypal charges, plus listing fees - you'd be surprised quite how much it all adds up to!

The actually call it an insertion fee. I wonder how many jokes about "Cheapest Insertion Fees" get made around the ebay offices...

Provisionally sold pending payment. Thanks for the interest, I'll let other interested parties know if it falls through.
