I am in need of hand drills (up to 3) urgently.
I currently have a Petzl rockpecker drill. The same or similar would be great.
If anyone has a decent second hand one or three for sale, or if anyone could recommend where to source them from, your response would be much appreciated!
Thank you
Mike

If you can't find second hand, Climbing Anchors stocks these: http://www.climbinganchors.com.au/collections/bolting-gear/products/fixe-hand-drill and currently have 3...

I would suggest becoming friends with a tradie and borrowing their battery powered rotary hammer drill, a lot easier than hand drilling

I would suggest there is a reason he wants 3 hand drills.

I would suggest that he buys 3 battery hammer drills!

It would be interesting to know WHY he wants three hand drills.

Looks neat. A few years ago I made up a chuck to hold modern masonry bits. 150 length of 25mm round MS bar; drilled 7mm in the centre of one end with 2 opposing allen screws to hold the bit in place. Worked nicely even in hard rock..
I still have 2 sebco chucks but I dont seem to be able to find taper drills anywhere.

On a similar note I am searching for a abacus to do my tax return on this year.
Maybe it could just be that they have a long walk in and dont want the extra weight.

There are areas which ban the use of power drills too...

An abacus would be a waste of time Paul, Do what I do and just use your fingers

Are any of the battery drills light enough yet to compare to the weight of hand-drill + hammer as an emergency kit for Bungonia etc?

Emergency kit? Doesn't one have to wait for the glue to dry?
I never understood reading about anchors and waiting (or not) for glue to dry. I have a backcopy of National Geographic, with a photodocument from Greg Child in high Northern latitudes, complete with a pic of a portaledge high up on granite - held by a bolt. Did the whole team just hang around (literally!) waiting and waiting for the glue to set prior to setting up camp?

Granite. Grump. Dynabolt.
None of that nasty sticky stuff.

Bungonia rock is fine for mechanical bolts.
