This is my last resort and have been reluctant to advertise here as it isn't that climbing related
(although it has made the pilgrimage to Araps and Gramps many a time) but now I'm desperate and
would hate to throw this car on the scrap heap.
Great first car or for climber, surfer or anyone who is generally poor!
For sale:
Volvo 245L 1979 station wagon, automatic, light blue, very straight for the age with no dings or rust
(recently had two 5cm sized rust areas cut out, for the first time), runs very nicely. She cruises at
ease at 120km/h and just think, you'll never need to stumble into the pines at midnight and worry about
waking others by banging in tent pegs, just fold the seat down and crash in the back; I never took a
tent.
Unfortunately it's unregistered and this is probably what scares a lot of buyers off. I have now moved
over seas and can't really get it all taken care of. We (my brother who is holding the care until it is
sold) got a quote from the local RWC mechanic said it would cost $800 to bring it up to scratch.
Selling price $500 (was trying in Trading post for $1000-$800). The maths; $500 + $800 (RW work)
means $1,300 for a great work horse, and she looks pretty too!
PM me if you are interested, or have other leads, and I'll put you onto my brother who can show you
the car (Brunswick, Melbourne).
[Picture, which is an old product shot, shows same model although mine is a baby blue and not
metallic, slightly different headlight styling and mine has a roof rack tray thingy]
